General Post 1

"Watching him, she knew he was a better father than he gave himself credit for; good, she suspected, in all the ways that mattered." Pg. 87

This makes me think of all of the thoughts that must run through a father's head, thoughts of not being good enough. It also makes me think about how he is probably completely wrong, most people think he is an amazing father. In my personal opinion, Alex is a perfect father in this book.

General Post 2

"She'd learned long ago that nothing wonderful lasted forever. Joy was as fleeting as a shooting star that crossed the evening sky, ready to blink out at any moment."

This is sad to me, but very true. Everyone feels that sense that everything is too perfect and will soon crumble. I have felt this almost every time things are going good, but then I realize sometimes things are allowed to just be really good.

General Post 3

"That's the thing about life. A lot of the time, it isn't easy at all. We just have to try to make the best of it." Pg. 73

I really like this quote because it makes sense that life will always be hard, but all we can do is try. This quote should make anyone hopeful. And this quote makes me very happy because I know that all I can do in life is my best with whatever is thrown at me.

General Post 4

"Now I understand how Noah must have felt. Can you believe this storm?" Pg. 59

This is the first of many remarks made about the Bible. Other times it is reference by Kevin Tierne as a way to make hunting Katie an acceptable thing. He talked about the 10 commandments and other proverbs.

"No, they hadn't set the world on fire with their scintillating conversation, but it was a start, right?"

I love how this is on of the first things Sparks writes during Alex and Katie's first encounter. This is a very cute line, very simple, but it leads you to believe something will happen between them. To think that after this entire story with all of it's excitement, this is the simple line to start it all.
